Established in Berlin in 1906, Goldring traces its roots to Gebrüder Scharf, founded by brothers Heinrich and Julius. Initially crafting gramophone components, their expertise evolved into sophisticated sound boxes, culminating in the iconic Juwel Electro in 1926. Renamed "Goldring Manufacturing (GB) Ltd" in 1953, the company flourished in East London, pioneering revolutionary magnetic pickups like the acclaimed Goldring 500.
In the early 2000s, Goldring ventured into turntable design, unveiling the GR1 and award-winning GR2. Cartridge innovation continued with the 2000 series, introducing moving iron design. Relocating to Bishops Stortford, the Legacy MC cartridge, launched in 2009, showcased a blend of historical design and modern materials.
Amidst the vinyl resurgence in the early 2010s, Goldring addressed a new market by introducing the E series, high-quality entry-level MM cartridges. In 2018, the Ethos, our pinnacle moving coil cartridge, emerged, harnessing emerging technologies. With a rich history and a commitment to innovation, Goldring remains a respected name among globally-renowned hi-fi manufacturers.
